We spent the weekend getting closer to nature and to each other at Montmorency Falls, Saint Anne-de-Beaupre Basilica, Cap-Tourmente Wildlife Reserve, and the Wendake Village. A little ashamed to admit we had McDonald's and Krispy Kreme, but WOW did they taste good!!! We didn't get to see 4th of July fireworks, but we did get to see this beautiful artwork by mother nature outside our dorm on movie night. We had to stop the movie to get pictures. Could not pass it up!
We made chicken a la provencale at Ateliers & Saveurs. Definitely one of our favorite activities. And the best part was eating what we made, of course! So yummy! These young ladies all told me that they will prepare this dish at home for their parents. Yippee!!! Nothing beats the charm of Old Quebec. It is the most European city in North America. We loved eating in outdoor cafes, sharing bags of caramel corn, and people watching as we waited for our Ghost Tour to begin after dark. Glorious day at the Citadel! Best view in the entire city. That's the Chateau Frontenac in the background. We watched the changing of the guard. But the big hit was the mascot, a gift from the Queen of England, a goat with gold horns. What a great time we had at the Aquarium du Quebec today! We learned the names for many types of aquatic wildlife in French, such as une étoile de mer (starfish), un hippocampe (a seahorse), and une méduse (a jellyfish). We especially liked petting the stingrays, walking on lily pads, and saying "bonjour" to the beautiful, white renard arctique (arctic fox).
Looking forward to watching the changing of the guard at La Citadelle tomorrow morning and touring the museum there! Bonne nuit! |
